Bora Bora Cinnamon Oatmeal Organic Wellness Bar
“All Natural, Non-GMO, Gluten Free, No Preservatives, Certified Vegan.” The Organic Wellness Bar is the only bar in this line that qualified for this article (see criteria). The bar is minimally-processed in appearance, with nice chunks of dried fruit and nuts and a good cinnamon taste; but the apple presence is a little overwhelming. Per bar (40g or 1.4 oz.): 140 calories, 40 calories from fat, .5g saturated fat, no cholesterol, 15mg sodium, 3g fiber, 14g sugars, 3g protein. First ingredient: organic rolled oats. Carman’s Classic Fruit Muesli Bars
“Low GI, Wheat Free, Good Source of Fiber, No Preservatives.” An Australian import, classified as low GI with a rating of 53. First ingredient: rolled oats. Very chewy, with more dried fruit than many other bars tasted. Very lightly sweet, with a noticeable cinnamon presence (only one of the flavors was tasted for the this review, but subsequently, THE NIBBLE staff enjoyed the other flavors as well). Cascadian Farm Organic Fiber Right Dark Chocolate Almond Chewy Granola Bars
First ingredient: tapioca syrup. Light-textured bars, both crunchy and chewy. Generally mild flavor with one overpowering taste I didn’t like at all (perhaps the tapioca syrup?). Mildly bitter aftertaste. Certified organic. Per bar (35 g): 130 calories, 35 calories from fat, 1g saturated fat, no cholesterol, 100mg sodium, 5g fiber, 8g sugars, 2g protein. CascadianFarm.com
