Espresso Cocktail Recipes

Including “Amore,” Recipe For Love

Enjoy two espresso-based cocktails courtesy of Illy USA. Amore is served hot with Amaretto di Saronno®, Beatrice on ice with vodka and Grand Marnier®.

Amore

Ingredients

• Espresso
• Heavy cream for whipping
• Amaretto di Saronno
• Light brown sugar
• Whole coffee beans for garnish (chocolate-coated coffee beans are especially nice!)

Directions 

1. Lightly whip 1 ounce of fresh cream.
2. Warm 2 ounces of Amaretto di Saronno (if you have an espresso machine, you can use the steam nozzle) and pour into a glass—preferably a heavier, stemmed glass.
3. Add one shot of espresso.
4. Spoon the whipped cream on top and sprinkle with brown sugar.
5. Garnish with two coffee beans.

Beatrice

Ingredients

• Espresso
• Heavy cream for whipping
• Vodka
• Grand Marnier
• Cocoa powder and whole coffee beans for garnish
• Ice
• Martini glass

Directions

1. Using a whisk, lightly whip ½ ounce fresh cream.
2. Add 1 shot espresso, ½ ounce vodka and ½ ounce Grand Marnier
   and ice to a cocktail shaker, and mix.
3. Pour contents into a chilled martini glass, using a strainer to remove the ice.
4. Gently float the whipped cream on top. Garnish with dusting of cocoa powder and coffee beans.
