Bacon Cocktail Recipe
Bringing Home The Bacon In A Shot Glass
Thanks to Hornitos Tequila for this tasty cocktail recipe.
Bacon Cocktail Recipe
Serve strips of caramelized bacon as the hors d’oeuvre.
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 parts añejo Tequila
- Maple syrup to rim glass
- Bacon bits to rim glass (we strongly suggest REAL bacon bits, not the vegetable protein)
Preparation
- Rim shot glass with maple syrup, then dip rim in a plate of bacon bits.
- Fill shot glass with tequila. Drink up: You deserve it.
Caramelized Bacon Strips Recipe
We enjoy this at least once a week at THE NIBBLE. Warning: one pound of bacon seems to disappear—it’s irresistible. It can be prepared several hours in advance. You can also mince pieces for the cocktail rim.
Ingredients
- 1 pound thin-sliced bacon (we use a quality brand such as Nueske’s or Niman Ranch)
- 1-1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Place sugar in shallow pan. Coat bacon strips completely on both sides.
- Place bacon sticks in a large broiling pan or on a rack set atop a pan. Cook until brown, turning once (about eight minutes per side).
- Transfer to a clean rack to drain. Serve warm or at room temperature.
