Varieties Of Caffe Sanora

Whatever one’s favorite style, there’s a Caffe Sanora to fit the bill.

Breakfast Blend

The breakfast blend will appeal to drinkers who like their coffee mixed with milk and sugar. Because of the chocolate-nuanced flavor, it is also the sweetest of the Caffe Sanora line. We preferred drinking it iced rather than hot. Black coffee-drinkers are advised to opt for the Dark Roast or Signature House Blend instead, both of which are richer and more aromatic.

Dark Roast

This roast exhibits the highest acidity of the bunch and leaves a lively aftertaste with toast-like undertones. It is closest in flavor to the Signature Roast, with more body than the Espresso Roast. The flavor lingers pleasantly in the mouth. Though it is certainly suitable to enjoy straight out of the pot, it is also delicious when iced. Sweeten it if you wish to cut the bitterness.

Espresso Roast

Given its name, we were disappointed that this coffee did not exhibit more body. Instead, it was thin and overly bitter and astringent. However, when it comes to coffee, to each his own; it may suit others’ tastes better than ours. We liked it better hot than iced. See our Espresso Glossary for more information about espresso.

Signature Roast

This roast has less bitterness and lower acidity than the Dark Roast, but maintains a robust body. A definite favorite among our tasters, it is a great all-around coffee and is likely to be the most appealing choice for coffee lovers of all types. With some chocolate-like undertones, the flavor was not sweet like the Breakfast Blend, but pleasingly bitter like good-quality dark chocolate. With a toast-like aftertaste, it contains many layers of flavor that work together to produce a great cup of coffee.

Signature Roast Decaf

Caffe Sanora’s decaf unfortunately loses much of its full, rich body along with the caffeine. Much thinner and plainer than the caffeinated house blend, this was our least favorite selection. However, we appreciate that it has more antioxidants than your average cup of decaf coffee.

Overall, Caffe Sanora antioxidant coffees are perfect for coffee lovers who also happen to be health nuts, or people just looking to maximize their antioxidant intake. You get a greater concentration of antioxidants with every sip, without losing out on the flavor, aroma or caffeine levels of conventionally roasted coffee. The Breakfast Blend will appeal to people who want a light cup of sweeter, chocolate-like coffee in the morning. Those who seek intense, rich or dark flavors should opt for the Dark Roast or Signature Roast, and may find the other varieties too weak or thin. Otherwise, the entire line is a smart and painless way to take in more antioxidants. Watch out, free radicals—Caffe Sanora may be coming to get you!
