What did those American mixologists do with the Bloody Mary recipe? Why, add protein, in the form of beef bouillon and clam juice—though not at the same time.
Bloody Bull Recipe (a.k.a. Bull Shot)
This version originated at in New Orleans at one of the Brennan family restaurants, the most famous of which is the Commander’s Palace.
Combine the first six ingredients, mix well; pour over ice in a tall glass and garnish with the scallion.
Bloody Mariner (a.k.a. Bloody Caesar)
This drink can be made with Clamato juice instead of the combination of tomato and clam juices. It is also known as the Bloody Caesar, Bloody Clam, Caesar, Clammy Mary and Red Wings.
Combine the first six ingredients, mix well; pour over ice in a tall glass and garnish with the celery stalk.
