Why has it taken us so long to write about Key Lime Coolers and Razzberry Tarts from the Byrd Cookie Company?

Surely, these nice people have been most cordial to us as we have stopped to sample their yummy little cookies, time and time again at various gourmet and gift shows for the trade.

Perhaps because Byrd makes so many delicious cookie flavors, it’s been hard to single out just two.  Hard, but not impossible; because year in and year out, their Key Lime Coolers never fail to warm our hearts.

The Razzberry Tarts, which are not tarts but a raspberry version of the Key Lime Coolers, are a close second. In food shows surrounded by hundreds of other fine cookies, we never fail to stop at Byrd’s booth at least twice for a handful of each. The pure key lime and raspberry flavors blended into delicious buttery cookie dough are pure delight.  And these bite-size treasures let you have a little something special without breaking the calorie bank.

But, we’re not just trade show freeloaders.  We personally buy boxes by the half dozen at our local gourmet market. They come in handsome airtight tins with a nine-month shelf life, so are perfect for stocking at home.  You can then delight both expected and unexpected guests, stick a bow on and bring as a hostess gift, take to an ill or unhappy friend, congratulate a co-worker, and so on. The tins are chic, the tastes are addictive, and the perceived value of the gift is far greater than the $9.95 it costs.

So, buy a bunch and you won’t be caught empty-handed.

If you’d like to buy 240 or more, perhaps for wedding or party favors or corporate gifts, you can have your name or logo screened on the tin.  There are set-up and screening fees but they’re offset by the wholesale pricing.
