Tassimo Tea & Hot Chocolate Brands
Remarkably improved from the original product offering are the hot chocolate and the tea. The last time around, they tasted like products from a vending machine. Now, they are an acceptable quick solution.
- The Suchard Hot Chocolate, which previously tasted like chocolate sugar water, is quite passable. Made from chocolate syrup that is mixed with water, it won’t pass for one of our top-reviewed hot chocolates, but for a product from a machine, we won’t complain; and it’s of higher quality than a supermarket mix.

The black and white bar code on the top tells the Tassimo machine how much water to add, at what temperature, and how long to “brew.”
- The Twinings Earl Grey Tea is force-brewed in seconds in the Tassimo system, rather than gently steeped for three or four minutes during a conventional process. It won’t win kudos from tea lovers, nor will they pour it down the drain. We drink conventionally-brewed Earl Grey every day, and drank the entire package of T-disks as an instant cuppa.
- There are green tea and chai latte selections from Twinings, as well as a black tea from Tazo. We haven’t tasted these yet, but look forward to trying them.
In addition to a fast, good cup of whatever you yearn for, the Tassimo displays some excellent engineering.
