Rooibos Tea Blends

For people who want caffeine-free tea, Nini offers a treasure trove of rooibos and herbal teas. There are six rooibos varieties alone:

  • A Day In Provence. Another of the pretty, romantic blends, this lovely floral and fruity herbal blend is inspired by the lavender fields of Provence. Rooibos is blended with lavender, rose petals, red and black currants and rose hips.
  • Better Than SexBetter Than Sex. A rooibos blend with bits of Belgian dark chocolate and peppermint. It’s delicious, but seriously, the name is hyperbolic.
At right: Better Than Sex. We’re a food magazine, so we won’t say more, except it’s a good cup of tea.
  • Kaapstad. The original name for Capetown, Kaapstad is a full bodied blend of vanilla rooibos with marigold petals, almond bits and ginger. It’s a sunny drink in flavor as well as color of the leaves, that honors Nini’s family by marriage, who hail from South Africa.
  • Lovers’ Tea. An alleged aphrodisiac tea blended with wild Persian saffron, rose petals, hibiscus and marigold petals in a base of herbal red rooibos tea. We’re not sure this will put you in an amorous mood if you’re not already disposed to be in one, but it sure is pretty and tastes good.
  • Raj. A Chai with a rooibos base blended with coconut shavings and masala spices (ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, pepper and coriander). Warming and rejuvenating.

  • Tuk Tuk Chai. This is a Thai-inspired rooibos chai, layering green lemongrass atop red vanilla rooibos tea. Cinnamon, cardamom and ginger add to the robust flavor. There is so much natural sweetness, you may not need to add sugar.

Herbal Tea Blends

Nini’s two herbal infusions are intended to calm and soothe.

  • Muse Herbal Tea BlendDream. Those who enjoy a soothing cup of chamomile will enjoy the addition of lemon balm and spearmint into the blend. This sunny, citrusy, calming herbal tea is used homeopathically to induce sleep.
  • Muse. Muse is a citrus and mint infusion blended with 100% organic botanicals: lemon verbena, peppermint, spearmint, lemongrass, lavender, rose petals and lemon balm. Intended as a stress reliever, it’s beautiful to look at, as well as a delicious cup of tea.

Photo: Muse, as pretty as potpourri.
