Recipes: Rosy Vodka Cocktails

A Bright Blush Beyond The Cosmopolitan & Screwdriver

Earlier, we looked at the history of vodka and vodka trivia. Click the black links below to view these pages. Here, we put the vodka to good use with delicious—and visually striking—vodka cocktails.

Cold River Vodka is an award-winning super-premium vodka made from potatoes and distilled in Freeport, Maine. It uses water from Maine’s Cold River, which flows out of Evans’ Notch, meandering its way through the former potato fields of forested Fryeburg and filtering through miles of underground granite into the Cold River Aquifer. As a potato-based vodka, it’s also gluten free.

Carrie Bradshaw may have loved her Cosmopolitan—citrus vodka with cranberry juice and lime juice—but Cold River Vodka and Solo Bistro of Bath, Maine have created an alternative for Cosmo lovers, plus one for Screwdriver fans, with just a bit more going on.

  • 1⁄2 ounce cassis

    (we like GuS)

Red, White & Blue Cocktail

Either of the above can be turned into a “red, white and blue” drink for Memorial Day or Independence Day by garnishing with fresh blueberries.

But another way to approach an Old  Glory cocktail is to use Cold River’s delicious blueberry vodka straight up or in a martini.

  • Mix your cocktail with blueberry vodka.
  • Include ice for the “white” component.
  • Use a blueberry and/or strawberry garnish.
