We show chickpeas and chocolate morsels as the concept that created the Chocolate Mousse dessert hummus. But think of serving dessert hummus with two sides—perhaps fruit and dessert topping, like a deconstructed sundae. Photography by Hannah Kaminsky | THE NIBBLE.
You can eat it out of the tub at work like a yogurt, or serve it a snack with apple slices and carrots. But Dessert Hummus also makes an elegant dessert:
In a crepe
In a martini glass or sherbet Champagne goblet
Garnished with berries, chopped nuts or chocolate shavings
With whipped cream or non-dairy topping
As a snack or a lighter dessert, serve it with cookies and quality graham crackers (the hummus spreads nicely).
Chuck McGonagle suggests these specific pairings:
Carmel Apple Hummus on Cheddar rice cakes
A Peanut Butter Hummus sandwich, with your favorite jelly or alone on toasted whole-grain bread
Toasted Almond Hummus with red grapes
Pumpkin Pie hummus with graham crackers for a mock “pumpkin pie”
Have fun with this one; we think you’ll enjoy it. Buy as much as you want; it freezes beautifully.
