CAPSULE REPORT: The Chex-style snack mixes from Otis And Betty’s range from chocolate-enhanced to sweet heat. All are winners, but stick to the two-ounce bags or the seven-ounce bags are likely to turn into “single serving size.” The mixes are made in the “old fashioned way”—baked.
Overview
Maumelle, Arkansas, northwest of Little Rock, is not exactly a culinary capital. It’s a planned community of about 16,000, established in 1974, with two recreational lakes, surrounded by parkland, bicycle trails and wooden bridges. - Smokin’: Honey Nut Chex and Wheat Chex, honey roasted almonds and peanuts, pecans, honey roasted sesame sticks, pretzels, BBQ seasoning, sugar and spices.
