Jcoco Gourmet Chocolate Bars Are Stars

We nibble on the world’s greatest chocolate.

But out heads did turn when we tasted the elegant new line of luxurious gourmet chocolate bars created by Jean Thompson of Seattle Chocolate (she’s the “J” in Jcoco).

From the velvety tactile sensation of the paper packaging (100% recycled!) to the hip photos to the silky mouthfeel of the chocolate, this line is a winner. The sensory experience rocks, and the chic presentation is wonderful for gifting. The contemporary flavors are memorable.

In a savvy move, instead of one large bar each package contains three one-ounce bars (the recommended daily serving), individually wrapped with a hip photo of someone having fun.

Gourmet Chocolate Bar Flavors

Made with fine Belgian chocolate, there are five initial varieties of Jcoco chocolate bars:

  • Black Fig Pistachio Chocolate Bar. A dark chocolate bar is generously studded with chewy dried organic Black Mission figs and whole roasted pistachio nuts. Gluten free.
  • Edamame Sea Salt Chocolate Bar. This truly marvelous milk chocolate bar is studded with crunchy roasted edamame (soy beans, non-GMO), dusted with sea salt. The effect evokes a classic roasted almond-and-chocolate bar but with contemporary excitement. There’s a touch of soy sauce for a salty counterpoint.
  • Noble Dark Chocolate Bar. For chocolate purists, this 72% cacao bar delivers deep, smooth, rich chocolate flavor. Gluten free.
  • Veracruz Orange Chocolate Bar. An homage to the Yucatan, the origin of chocolate, this exquisite vanilla chocolate bar fresh orange sliced open and sprinkled with chili powder is a favorite treat on the Yucatan Peninsula. This intriguing bar echoes those flavors by balancing the sweetness of pure white chocolate with citrus and vanilla and finishing with a gentle kick of chili pepper.
  • Vanuatu Origin Milk Chocolate. While most chocolate is a blend of beans to achieve a consistent flavor profile, the beans for this bar hail from the tiny South Pacific island nation of Vanuatu. The terroir imparts delightful caramel notes to the chocolate. Gluten free.

Charitable Component

Giving back to communities is at the heart of Jcoco’s mission. With each purchase, the company donates a fresh, healthy serving of food to organizations that feed the hungry: San Francisco and Marin Food Banks, Hopelink in the northwest and Food Bank of New York in the east, with more community giving partnerships in the works as distribution expands.

It’s a wonderful added-value benefit: Given the choice among equally fine chocolate bars, we’d buy the one that helps to feed the hungry, we’d buy that brand.

Jcoco Bars For Gifting

With Mother’s Day and Father’s Day looming, we can’t think of a more delicious gift for the chocolate-lover. Tie the set of bars with a ribbon, or give individual bars as party favors.

They’ll be a hit!

The suggested retail price is $7.95/package, which includes three one-ounce bars.
