WHAT IT IS: Chocolate bonbons, filled with peanut butter-infused chocolate ganache, and shaped like pups.
WHY IT’S DIFFERENT: Peanut butter chocolate ganache is relatively rare. Combine it into a pup-shaped bonbon, and it’s unique.
WHY WE LOVE IT: In tandem with the cuteness of the concept, the silky ganache and elegant infusion of peanut butter have a lot of finesse.
WHERE TO BUY IT:   GearhartsChocolates.com.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Ganache Pups

The Peanut butter Pups from Gearharts Chocolates are unique. Even better, they are delicious, memorable and eminently giftable.

What a great Mother’s Day gift for a dog-loving mom with a penchant for silky chocolate ganache bonbons. The ganache has a delicate infusion of handmade peanut butter into the ganache.

There’s a feel-good component, too:   Gearharts donates 5% of sales of Peanut Butter Pups to Companions for Heroes, a not-for-profit organization that matches rescue pets as companion animals to our nation’s wounded veterans.

Take A Bite

The whimsical pup bonbons are made by hand from premium milk chocolate; the ganache is infused with artisan peanut butter from Reginald’s Homemade, a Virginia neighbor. The faces are hand-piped with dark chocolate and chocolate-covered toasted almond ears. A box of nine bonbons is $22.

If Mom doesn’t crave peanut butter or chocolate, Gearharts, an artisan chocolatier with retail shops in Charlottesville and Richmond, Virginia, has boxes of delicious chocolate bonbons and bars.

For those who prefer other confections, we recommend the chocolate dipped apricots, candied orange peel and crystallized ginger. See them all at GearhartsChocolates.
