We review a lot of artisan and gourmet food products, but most of them don’t end up in our weekly shopping cart. Yet, some seemingly conventional products make it onto the list of foods we enjoy regularly.
Veggie Patch is one such brand: family-friendly meatless entrées and snacks with delicious appeal.
- The “chicken” and “hot dogs” taste like the real deal.
- The broccoli and spinach nuggets appeal to stalwart vegetable-avoiders.
- It’s easy to provide vegetarian burgers, hot dogs and corn dogs at barbecues.
- There are options in the freezer for vegetarian visitors. (The tough part is refraining from eating them in the interim.)
- The convenience—from freezer to plate in minutes*—can’t be beat.
Veggie Patch joins two other Top Picks Of The Week, vegan brands Lightlife and Vegetarian Plus as “regulars” in our freezer (Veggie Patch is vegetarian but most items are not vegan).
*For most of products, the oven or toaster oven is the recommended heating appliance. But we cooked everything in the microwave, which worked just fine (and uses less energy).
It’s Fun To Eat Your Veggies
The line consists of:
- Burgers, Franks & Meatballs: Meatless Corn Dogs, Meatless Meatballs, Ultimate Meatless Burgers, Veggie Dogs
- Falafel: Traditional chickpea balls and Mediterranean Chickpea Patties with added spinach and onion.
- Snacks/Sides: Broccoli Bites With Cheese, Spinach Bites With Cheese, Potato And Mushroom Puffs, Spinach Nuggets, Zucchini Sticks.
- Vegetarian Chicken: Chick’n Cutlets, Chick’n Nuggets, Meatless Buffalo Wings
We haven’t had all the varieties, but those we’ve have been excellent. The products are all natural: no artificial flavors and colors, no chemical preservatives, no trans fats.
Where To Find Veggie Patch
Veggie Patch products are sold in two areas of the grocery store: in the frozen aisle or, for chilled products like Spinach Nuggets, in the produce section, usually near the bags of ready-to-eat salad.

Some people choose to go meatless for ethical, health, religious or environmental reasons. While we’re on the sustainable/environmental bandwagon, we buy meatless prepared foods like Veggie Patch because they’re delicious. Try them!
