If you’re vegan, lactose intolerant or can’t have sugar, but still love frozen desserts, you’ll relish the raw agave gelato and dessert syrups from Organic Nectars.
Raw food is purportedly the most nutritious food, utilizing raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds with nothing heated above 118°F to preserve maximum nutritional value. Organic Nectars takes it one step further, using only organic ingredients and making products that are truly environmentally friendly. In addition to low glycemic agave cashew crème gelato and dessert syrups, the company sells agave sweeteners to use in place of table sugar, honey and other sweeteners, artisanal extra virgin olive oil, goji berries and raw cacao products.
Raw Agave Gelato
Not everyone who digs into a pint of superpremium ice cream at 16% butterfat will happily transition to a cashew-milk-based frozen dessert. But Organic Nectars’ raw, non-dairy low-glycemic agave gelato hits the spot with many. The creamy texture, frozen cashew creme made from raw, organic cashews, is more than satisfying without cream and eggs. Agave is a terrific sweetener—you don’t miss the cane sugar. And at at 150 calories or less per serving, it sure cuts the calories over most ice cream.
And there’s a lot of choice:
Gelato
Cherry Chocolate Chunk
Chocolate
Chocolate Hazelnut Swirl
Mint Chocolate Chip
Pistachio
Vanilla
Shown: half pints. Now available in pints and gallons.
Agave Gelato Saves The Day
Recently, we threw a birthday party for a friend, and when the cake and ice cream were served, it turned out that one of the couples had eliminated sugar from their diet. It would have thrown a real damper on the celebration—who wants to be digging into cake and ice cream when cherished friends are sidelined?
Fortunately, we had our freezer full of all of the flavors of Organic Nectars gelato. Whew! We were able to offer them to our guests. Not only were they happy—they were thrilled! They liked each flavor better than the next, comparing Cherry Chocolate Chunk to Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia, debating the marvels of Pistachio over Mint Chip, and reveling in each successive carton. Watching their joy of discovery became the fun event of the evening.
