CAPSULE REPORT: This is the continuation of the Organic Nectars article. Here, the focus is on the raw agave dessert toppings: raw, sugar-free, organic, kosher and vegan. Click on the black links below to visit other pages.
Now, let’s make a sundae. Organic Nectars makes raw dessert toppings in four varieties:
Chocagave Raw Cacao Chocolate Sauce, an extra-thick chocolate sauce made from raw agave syrup and Fair Trade raw cacao powder. For a sugar-free vegan chocolate sauce, very nice!
Chocagave Bold Roast Raw Cacao Chocolate Sauce, the chocolate sauce made with bold-roast cocoa powder. A little too bold for us; we prefer the regular Chocagave. For both chocolate sauces: 2 tablespoons, 70 calories, 5 calories from fat.
Gojiagave Dessert Syrup, flavored with Tibetan goji berries. There wasn’t a huge difference in flavor between the Gojiagave and the Vanillagave, below. We preferred the slight fruitiness of the Goji.
Vanillagave Dessert Syrup, flavored with pure Madagascar vanilla, fragrant with vanilla. This and Gojiagave can also be used as pancake syrups. You can also use them to make flavored coffee drinks. For both syrups: 1 teaspoon, 20 calories, 0 calories from fat.
Now everyone’s ready to party—almost. While folks with nut allergies can have sorbet, we’re still on the hunt for an ice cream solution for them.
