Java Bites: Espresso Cookies For Coffee Lovers
CAPSULE REPORT: Don’t think we’re turning into java heads because we’re following a review of Tiny Footprint organic coffee with a review of Java Bites coffee cookies. Next week will take a new direction entirely.
But if you do like the flavor of coffee—or more specifically, espresso—in a sweet treat, Stir Crazy Creations has your number. Nestled against the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Loveland, Colorado, the company bakes espresso-flavored cookies that are delightful.
Why bake cookies when you can brew them? ask the folks at Stir Crazy.
They start with organic, shade grown, espresso-roasted Arabica beans. The beans are coarsely ground into a specially formulated moist cookie dough and slowly baked, so the coffee “brews” in the dough.
The boxes couldn’t be niftier: They’re shaped like a tall coffee mug with a handle that pulls out. (If it were shaped like an espresso cup, the cookie content would be seriously constrained.)
A bonus: The handmade cookies are packaged in 100 calorie two-packs (two cookies wrapped in cellophane, six packs per box).
The cookie flavors parallel favorite espresso drinks: Almond Mocha, Chocolate Chip Espresso, Cinnamon Cappuccino, White Chocolate Mocha Latte and White Chocolate Vanilla Latte.
Now the tough part: Each flavor is worthy of your attention. We’ll go into further detail on the next page.
Put these espresso cookies on your holiday list as stocking stuffers and gifts for teachers and helpers.

But first, a reminder:
THE NIBBLE previously featured another coffee cookie as a Top Pick Of The Week, Biscoffee Shortbread Cookies. The cookies are very different in style: A coffee lover will delight in both brands. |
