Introduction
At Colorado Mountain Jams & Jellies, you know where your fruit comes from. The company grows its own organic apricots, peaches and plums in Palisade, Colorado. If Colorado doesn’t sound like prime fruit-growing territory, be assured that the hot dry days and cool nights produces some of the best tasting fruit in America. Not only that, the jam and jelly kitchen is located right in the apricot and plum orchard. It doesn’t take long before the fresh fruit gets cooked into gourmet jam and jelly.
Since no single farmer grows every variety of produce, Colorado Mountain Jams & Jellies buys other fruit from like-minded colleagues, owners of family farms who are committed to producing the highest quality fruit. Talk about farm to fork: You know that the pears come from Chris Kropp of First Fruit in Paonia, Colorado and award winning strawberry jam is made from the strawberries of Kelly Wilmer of Natural Choice in Oxnard, California.
Colorado Mountain Jams & Jellies makes 10 varieties of wine jelly as well as about 20 regular and organic gourmet jams—standards such as apricot, blueberry, cherry, concord grape, plum, strawberry and strawberry rhubarb as well as specialty jams like apple pie, crabapple, ginger pear, peach jalapeño, spiced peach, spiced plum and tomato marmalade. To make things easy, today we’ll focus on the wine jellies. |
Another way to enjoy good wine.

What makes a jam or jelly“gourmet"? Quality. The fruit is picked at the peak of ripeness, when it is beginning to fall on its own from the trees. Because the fruit has been allowed to sun ripen on the branch, it has developed its full flavor naturally, and needs minimal added sweetener. That’s the true mark of a great product—the lower the sugar, the sweeter (and better) the fruit.
In the case of wine jelly, a quality product relies on quality wines. Colorado Mountain Jams & Jellies has teamed up with three top Colorado wineries: Garfield Estates Vineyard and Winery, Grande River Vineyards and Spero Winery. Several of the products are made from award-winning wines. All of them are winners to us. Learn about them on the next page.
