1 & 2. Pumpkin Bonbons:
John & Kira’s
A perennial NIBBLE favorite, John & Kira’s Drunken Chocolate Figs, looking like little pumpkins, are bites of heaven.
This year, they have a new pumpkin sibling: Spiced Pumpkin Bonbons (photo at left). Each is filled with a pumpkin pie caramel, a blend of pumpkin purée, pumpkin pie spices— cinnamon, clove, ginger, nutmeg and orange zest—and sugar. Superb!
All John & Kira’s products are beautifully gift-boxed.

Overview: Brownies, Cookies & Gingerbread
Some people don’t really enjoy a box of chocolates—but they do like cookies and brownies. For these revelers, three of our favorites:
3. Haunted Gingerbread House:
Mackenzie Ltd.
Who can resist this haunted gingerbread house? Set it out as a centerpiece for all of Halloween Week. Then, the day after Halloween, invite special friends open for a “haunted house demolition party.” It’s 100% edible.
The house, which is 8" wide by 9" high, is decorated with a bat, black cat, ghosts and a spider web, plus plenty of pumpkins. The crisp gingerbread is lightly flavored with allspice, clove and nutmeg—we wish it were more highly spiced, but kids will prefer it as is. It will be memory for years to come.

4. Chocolate Brownies:
Chokola’j Artisan Chocolates
We love Chokola’j chocolates, a NIBBLE Top Pick Of The Week (read the review). Their brownies are meltingly good. In an orange box with black ribbon, they’re a terrific Halloween gift to yourself and for lucky friends and family. The Purist is pure chocolate paradise.
Those looking to stretch their horizons should try the Lemon Mascarpone Brownies. Fresh lemon zest and vanilla bean blended with mascarpone create the top, which turns nicely golden-orange when baked. The rich chocolate brownie base features a hint of espresso. We can’t possibly choose between them, so we’re ordering one of each.

5. Harvest Luxembourgers (Macarons):
Burdick Chocolate
Go elegant this Halloween with melt-in-your mouth macarons, called “luxembourgers” in Belgium.
These limited-edition harvest cookie sandwiches made of almond meringue have holiday flavors of pumpkin, cinnamon and chocolate. Chewy and moist, yet light as air, you’ll have to hide them before witches and warlocks get the word.
