VitaMuffin VitaTops

While they recall memories of the famous episode of “Seinfeld” where Elaine couldn’t give the muffin bottoms away, VitaTops do remind us how many people prefer the top of the muffin.

VitaTops are made in the same flavors as VitaMuffins—Banana Nut, BlueBran, Golden Corn, CranBran, MultiBran and AppleBerry and Sugar Free/Low Carb Velvety Chocolate (no Sugar Free Banana Nut)—plus extra flavors of chocolate.

We recently tasted all seven chocolate flavors in one sitting—the original Deep Chocolate plus Chocolate Fig, Dark Chocolate Pomegranate,  Double Chocolate Dream (with white chips), Fudgy Peanut Butter Chip, Sugar-Free/Low Carb Velvety Chocolate and Triple Chocolate Chunk. We found the original Deep Chocolate, which contains chocolate chips, to have the most satisfying chocolate flavor. In retrospect, that’s not much of a surprise:  the semisweet chocolate flavor of the chips is taken away when white chips, PB chips, pomegranate and fig are substituted in the other flavors.

However, the very breadth of the chocolate varieties shows you what sells in the VitaMuffin line: chocolate VitaTops. Vitalicious, the manufacturer apprises us that you can walk off the 80-100 calorie VitaTops in 13-15 minutes. (The chocolate varieties have 100 calories.) Share a muffin top, coffee and a stroll with a friend.

How Healthy Are They?

The Vitalicious folks prepared a chart comparing their apple muffin to a fresh apple, and it looks like a Vitamuffin a day will keep the doctor away:

So the next time you host a breakfast or brunch for the health-and-diet crowd, serve VitaMuffins or VitaTops and see if your guests can tell if they are getting their daily intake of vitamins with reduced calories...or if they think they’re being “bad.” Great with a dollop of yogurt and/or sides of fresh fruit, these muffins will start any day off right. Bring them to the office or on trips to tide you over as well, instead of all the other things you could reach for and regret immediately afterward.

While you can find Vitalicious products at retailers nationwide, they can be purchased online and shipped to be frozen when they arrive. Then, after seconds in the microwave, you can start your morning Vitaliciously.
