These large marshmallows come in some truly inventive flavors. Witness the Sweet Peach Jam & Orange Blossom, pretty pale orange mallows that are quite sweet and taste primarily of peach. The Zesty Lemon Meringue Marshmallows are a bright yellow, with some texture from lemon zest. The flavor was too much of a whack of lemon oil for me, however. The Rose-Infused contain visible rose petals in pale pink mallows, and they smell and taste like those flowers. Of the types I tried, those I liked best were the Neapolitan, with their beautiful three layers of vanilla, strawberry and chocolate, and the Grasshopper Chocolate Peppermint. The latter, a pale green with many chocolate swirls, have a fine balance of mint flavor and are speckled with chocolate bits in addition to those swirls. While I’d have preferred a little more chocolate flavor, these were very good and quite attractive.

Have It Sweet Confections

The Lemon Meringue Pie, not as tender as some other mallows, had a nicely citrusy interior, but the “organic Lemon Cookie” crumbs on the exterior were too salty. The Cocoa Swirl had a nice, cocoa-y presence, with a good chocolate flavor. The Pink Peppermint, with beautiful pink swirls in a white marshmallow, had a moderate but tasty peppermint presence.

Juju Z. Treat Company

Human ingenuity is a wonderful thing. This small business stuffs each of their marshmallows with a square of chocolate—absolutely brilliant! I tried five types here: Vanilla Marshmallows With Milk Chocolate, Chocolate Marshmallows With Milk Chocolate, Peppermint Marshmallows With Dark Chocolate, Raspberry Marshmallows With Dark Chocolate, and Coconut Marshmallows With Dark Chocolate.

I found all of the marshmallows to be good, though I’d have preferred a little more strength of flavor in most of them. There was also the issue of the interior chocolate, which was not of great quality (I believe I know a Hershey bar when I taste it, and if the milk chocolate used inside some of these marshmallows is not made by Hershey, I’ll eat my hat). However, if you’re looking to bring something different on a camping trip, or if you’ll happen to be around a bonfire with people who aren’t chocolate snobs, a package of these just might make you a hero.
